Johanne Sofie Amtedal (b. 1993, Bærum, Norway)
explores abstraction with her naturalistic portraits.
Previously, she studied visual arts at Einar
Granum Art School, where she delved into human
anatomy and various painting techniques.
She also has a bachelor’s degree in art, design and
craft from Volda University College there
she focused on the field of drawing and
illustration.
Her specialty is visual art, either paintings on large
canvases with a broad brush or precise portraits
with gray pencil and watercolour.
She is inspired by various style periods, but especially
the careless brush strokes in the painting of
expressionism, the strong colors of pop art and
the playful lines of today’s fashion illustrators.
